Rain or Snow

The McMurtry Family (Jordan, Jeanette, AJ, John, Jessica and Jenna)

We had a great weekend (2 weeks ago) in Eagle with Curt's Aunt, Uncle and cousins. It is fun having family close by. To start off our weekend, we loaded up the bikes and drove to Gypsum. We have planned this dirt-biking trip for over a month. When we saw it was going to rain, we decided to go anyhow. We could tough the weather. This could possibly be our last weekend to take the bikes out (the selling has begun in preparation for our move).
Unloading in the pouring rain (helmets on to stay "dry")

So it was raining. That may actually be an understatement. It was pouring! We decided to "wait it out" a little and grabbed a bite to eat....but waiting was doing nothing to deter the rain. We finished the food and headed out in the rain. We suited up in the truck and unloaded the bikes. We rode for a little bit. Really, we rode until we just couldn't handle the mud anymore. Riding in that mud felt like riding in snow. Not ideal for motorcycles. We rode out, loaded the bikes, sprayed them down at a wash and headed for our weekend in Eagle a little early.

We enjoyed visiting, eating, watching soccer and playing games with the McMurtrys.

Curt and Jessica playing BackgammonJordan and Jenna (they just got baptized this month!)

Why "Rain or Snow"? The last motorcycle trip we took was in the fall. We again had planned it in advance...and when we got to the place we had planned on riding (Pickle Gulch), it was a blizzard! Yes. Snow. We still rode in the snow (it wasn't sticking badly).

When we want to ride: We RIDE!
